The children had an exciting week watching two Monarch Butterflies emerge from their chrysalises. We watched with awe as they were released outside in the playground.
The children enjoyed setting up and hosting a tea party after they recited the poem, “In Flanders Field” to their parents. The children worked hard to learn this poem off by heart and we thank you Mrs Feeney for coming and teaching us about John McCrae and the brave men and women who showed courage during the war.
One of the children thought it would be a great idea to send a letter to the Queen of England to invite her to our Tea Party celebration this week. We had fun posting her letter as well as a letter to our friend Pete in China.
Yesterday Madame Looyenga worked with the children on colouring lunch bags and filling them with sandwiches, fruit and snacks for some homeless people in downtown Hamilton. The children enjoyed working together as a team to help fulfill a practical need in our community.
Fractions in motion on our beautiful furniture from Natural Pod. Thank you Natural Pod for your environmentally safe, ethical and chemical free furniture. We really enjoy moving around our tables and benches for different work as we collaborate and create together in our classroom.
